Family Readiness Programs

Family Readiness Programs

Mission: Support the Warfighter and their Families by reinforcing the direct link between Family and Operational Readiness regardless of the location.

Vision: A MEDCOM community unified and sustained by resilient, informed, empowered, and self-reliant Families.

Family Readiness programs and events support The Surgeon General's Campaign Objective #2: "Build Readiness".

Army Family Action Plan (AFAP):

The Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) program provides a mechanism for all demographics who comprise the Army’s global force--Soldiers (Active Army and Reserve Components), retirees, DA civilians, and family members, including survivors, to identify quality of life that impact the Total Army Family. The AFAP General Officer Steering Commitee (GOSC) is the Joint Department of Defense Committee review board that ensure that AFAP issues are thoroughly worked to resolution by the appropriate functional proponent.

Organization Inspection (OIP) Program:

These evaluations measures performance against a standard and that should identify the cause of any deviation. All inspections start with compliance against a standard. The OIP provides the commander with an organized management tool to identify, prevent, or eliminate problem areas.
