Colonel Jenifer A. Meno

COL Jenifer Meno, Deputy Assistant Director, Strategy, Planning and Functional Integration (J-5)  Defense Health AgencyColonel Jenifer A. Meno graduated from East Carolina University at Greenville, North Carolina in 1992.  She was commissioned as a ROTC-Distinguished Military Graduate. She earned her Master’s of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Duke University in 2001.  In 2017, she completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice Candidate at the University of Alabama, Birmingham.

Meno’s military education includes: Officers Basic and Advance Course, Cadet Command Course, Combined Humanitarian Area Relief Team Course, numerous clinical courses, CAS3, Command General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and Brigade Pre-Command Course.  In 2011 she completed a Masters in Strategic Studies from Senior Service College, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania.

Meno is presently the Deputy Assistant Director, Strategy, Planning, and Functional Integration at the Defense Health Agency, Falls Church, Virginia.  Prior to this assignment she successfully completed Commander of the 21st Combat Support Hospital, 1st Medical Brigade, Fort Hood, Teas. During this time, the unit deployed to support Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq, as the Medical Task Force that supported Iraq and Syria.  Her other assignments included:  The Director for Patient Care Integration, G3/5/7, The Office of the Surgeon General, Falls Church Virginia; Commander at Andrew Rader Health Clinic, Fort Myer, Virginia; Human Resources Command, Alexandria, Virginia; 21st Combat Support Hospital, Iraq; Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; 3rd Brigade, 4th Region ROTC, Presidio of Monterey, California; 18th MASH, Fort Lewis, Washington; Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, Washington; 46th Combat Support Hospital, Somalia; Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C.  Her positions included: Staff Nurse on multi-service specialty ward, staff nurse in an intermediate care ward, perioperative staff and head nurse for operating room services in both TDA and TOE units, ROTC Nurse Counselor, Family Nurse Practitioner in a Family Practice Clinic, Family Nurse Practitioner in a Theater Interment Facility, Iraq, OIC of a Troop Medical Clinic at Camp Bucca, Iraq, Head Nurse Clark Health Clinic, Fort Bragg North Carolina and ANC Branch Manager.

Meno’s awards and decorations include: Legion of Merit (1 Oak leaf cluster), Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (7th Oak leaf cluster), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (5th oak leaf cluster), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (2 stars), Operation Inherent Resolve, United Nations Medal, Expert Field Medical Badge, and Department of the Army Staff Badge. Meno is a member of the Order of Military Medical Merit.

Meno is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Ambulatory Care Nursing. She has also received the Army Medical Department “A” Proficiency Designator in this specialty.
