DHA Publications Library

The DHA Charter - DOD Directive 5136.13DODD 5136.13 delegates the DHA Director authority to establish and maintain, for functions assigned, a publication system for regulations, instructions, and reference documents. As publications are completed and cleared for public release, they will be made available in the digital DHA Publications Library.

Freedom of Information Act

Since 1967, the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) has provided the public the right to request access to records from any federal agency. It is often described as the law that keeps citizens in the know about their government. Federal agencies are required to disclose any information requested under the FOIA unless it falls under one of nine exemptions which protect interests such as personal privacy, national security, and law enforcement.

Medical Coding Program Office

The Medical Coding Program Branch (MCPB) is focused on enhancing data transparency, improving the timely and accurate capture of medical information, and improving medical reimbursements across the Military Health System (MHS) enterprise. For questions or comments, please send an email message or call 1-703-817-4030 and leave a message.

Privacy and Civil Liberties Branch

The Defense Health Agency Privacy and Civil Liberties Office is responsible for safeguarding Military Health System (MHS) individuals and information by administering compliance programs. We oversee the protection of personally identifiable information (PII)/protected health information (PHI) within the MHS, one of the largest integrated health care delivery systems in the United States, serving more than 9.6 million eligible beneficiaries.

The Records Management Program supports all Health Affairs/DHA components to ensure proper maintenance, use, and disposition of paper and electronic records, in accordance with federal laws, regulations, and DOD guidance regarding the protection of sensitive information. Questions? Email Us.
