TBICoE hosts Dr. Daniel Perl, a professor of pathology at the Uniformed Services University and a world-renowned brain scientist, for a discussion of the latest research regarding warfighter brain health. For the past decade, he has directed the DOD/USU Brain Tissue Repository, where he studies donated brain specimens obtained from deceased service members. From this unique perspective, he and his dedicated team are characterizing the effects of a military career on the brain, especially the long-term effects of blast exposure, and its relationship to persistent behavioral/neurologic symptomatology.
