Joint Deployment Formulary

DHA MEDLOG supports the Department of Defense's requirement of a Joint Deployment Formulary (JDF).

  • Services typically deploy to contingencies with prepackaged assemblages, sets, kits or outfits (SKO).
  • Currently the services maintain roughly 1300 SKOs, although these are often in some stage of review and various updates.

To support the military services mission for contingency preparedness, it's imperative for the JDF to list items relevant to the services needs. This is done by identifying, services requesting or providing an already established National Stock Number (NSN) in the Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS). The NSN’s are aligned to commercial items via the National Drug Code (NDC) number, ultimately allowing the pharmaceutical to be available and procurable for contingency.
