The Defense Health Agency (DHA) developed this digital toolkit to help you communicate with beneficiaries about the launch of the DHA Appointing Portal (DAP). These products should be used locally to generate awareness among populations.
Background
DAP is a scheduling application designed to allow beneficiaries to self-book COVID-19 (and now flu) vaccine appointments. The web platform is accessible from outside the DOD network infrastructure on any internet capable device, including computers, tablets, and smartphones. DAP is solely for booking vaccine appointments and is not connected to any beneficiary medical records. The system is easy for beneficiaries to access and navigate.
Not all vaccination sites are using DAP, and not all vaccination sites offer all vaccine options. Patients must check the COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments page to see if their vaccination site is available on DAP. Patients can schedule and cancel appointments, if necessary.
Beneficiaries don’t have to be enrolled to a military hospital or clinic to use the DAP. They also don’t need an account or Common Access Card (CAC) to make a vaccine appointment.
- To book an appointment, beneficiaries will enter their:
- First and last name
- DOD ID number. (Active duty service members can find it on the back of their military-CAC and on the front of family member and retiree ID cards.)
- Birthdate
- Phone number
- Desired vaccine
- The name and date of the vaccine manufacturer of previous vaccine (for COVID-19, if applicable). You may need to answer additional questions to confirm your eligibility.
- After booking a COVID-19 vaccine, the DAP website will confirm the appointment.
- Beneficiaries may also contact their local military hospital, clinic, or vaccination site to learn more about their COVID-19 or flu vaccination process.
