From 30 APR 2018 to 17 APR 2019, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) Ministry of Health (MOH) has reported 1,302 (+195) confirmed and probable Ebola virus disease (EVD) cases from 21 health zones (HZs) in North Kivu and Ituriprovinces in northeastern DRC. On both 11 and 13 APR, the Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 20 newly confirmed cases, the highest incidence reported in a single day since the start of the outbreak. KatwaHZ remains the outbreak hotspot, but newly confirmed cases continue to be reported from multiple HZs. From 21 MAR to 10 APR, Katwa, Vuhovi, and MandimaHZs reported the highest number of cases, 62% of the 214 confirmed cases reported. There have been 843 (+148) deaths (case fatality proportion 65%). As of 17 APR, confirmed and probable cases have been reported from Katwa(432 (+110)), (Beni(260 (+10)), Butembo(122 (+18)), Mabalako(111 (+5)), Vuhovi(73 (+24)), Kalunguta(64 (+3)), Oicha(40 (+1)), Masereka(31 (+2)), Kyondo(19 (+1)), Musienene(8 (-1)), Kayna(7 (-1)), Biena(6), Manguredjipa(5), Mutwanga(4), and Lubero(4)HZs in North Kivu Province. In IturiProvince, cases have been reported from Mandima(75 (+19)), Komanda(36), Tchomia(2), Rwampara(1), Nyankunde(1), and Bunia (1)HZs.On 11 APR, the MOH reported that two workers at RughendaAirport in Butembowere transferred to an Ebola Treatment Unit (ETU) after testing positive for EVD. Response teams vaccinated airport staff anddisinfected the airport.
